Child Birth:

During the days and weeks after the delivery of your baby where your body will change as it returns to its non-pregnant condition.As with the pregnancy changes, postpartum changes are different for every woman. Pregnancy can change your body in more ways than you might have guessed as well as it doesn’t stop when the baby is born. The first few days at home after having your baby are a time for rest and also recovery i.e., physically and emotionally. You need to focus your energy on yourself and on getting to know your new baby.

Even though that you may be very excited and have the requests for lots of visits from family, relatives and friends where they can try to limit visitors and also get as much as rest as possible. Don’t expect to keep your house perfect where you may be find that all you can do is eat, sleep, and care for your baby which is perfectly okay. Learn to pace yourself from the first day that you are arrive is back home. Try to lie down or nap while the baby rests. Here are some tips to look after child birth.

Care after Vaginal Birth

  • Women need some time after a delivery to return their normal activities. It is important to focus on your healing and taking care of your body after the delivery.
  • Use the pads instead of tampons for the bloody flow which may last as long as 2 weeks.
  • Comfort pains or after pains with ibuprofen. If the doctor gives you a prescription medicine for pain, take it as prescribed.
  • If you have a swelling or pain around the opening of your vagina, try to use ice where you can keep ice or cold pack on the area and leave for 10 to 20 minutes at a time. Put a thin cloth between the ice and your skin.
  • Cleanse yourself instead of wiping with toilet paper use a gentle squeeze of warm water from a bottle.
  • Try to sit in a few inches of warm water 3 times a day and after bowel movements.
  • Comfort the pain of hemorrhoids and the area between your vagina and rectum with ice compresses or witch hazel pads.
  • Ease constipation by drinking lots of fluid and eating high-fiber foods, if you ask your doctor about over-the-counter stool softeners.

Physical Changes

  • After the birth of your baby, your doctor will talk with you about the things as you experience as your body starts to recover.
  • You will have a vaginal discharge that is known as lochia. It is the tissue and blood which is lined your uterus that is during a pregnancy. It is heavy and bright red at a first, becoming lighter in flow and color until it goes aware after a few weeks.
  • You might also have swelling in your legs and feet. You can reduce swelling by keeping your feet elevated when possible.
  • You might feel constipated. Try to drink plenty of water and eat fresh fruits and vegetables.
