Whereas in men, collagen bonds runs diagonally in a crisscross pattern, this may be the reason why men are less likely to have cellulite compared to women.
Also, man’s epidermis is much thicker than woman’s. men also have more active sebaceous glands, their sebum production is double than women, so their skin is oilier and shinier than women.

Hormones like – estrogen, insulin, thyroid hormones, noradrenalin and prolactin also plays some role in cellulite formation.
Age makes the skin less elastic and thin. This increases the probability of cellulite development.
Genetic factors are responsible for an individual’s metabolic rate, fat distribution and blood circulation. These factors also affect the cellulite formation in body.

Cellulite is more prevalent in people who consume more fat, carbohydrate and salt. People who lead active life are less likely to develop cellulite.
