White spots on the teeth are also known as hypo mineralization or hypoplasia. Mostly it occurs as a result of a deficiency of minerals in tooth enamel. Other causes of white spots on teeth are dry mouth, braces, poor oral hygiene, fluoro sis, sugary food, acidity etc.

Treatment of white spots on teeth depends on its cause. Consult your dentist for the treatment,but you can also try effective home remedies discussed below.

Home Remedies To Get rid of white spots on teeth

1.Basil Leaves-

Basil leaves havebleaching properties and also treatsbad breath.

Grind a handful of basil leaves and add a few drops of mustard oil to make a paste. Apply the paste to your teeth. Leave it for 2 minutes and then wash it off.

2. Oil Pulling-

It is one of the oldest home remedies to get rid of most of the dental issues. Oil pulling removes the bacteria and toxins from your mouth and inbetweenyour teeth and makes your teeth healthy and white. Also, it prevents dry mouth and gingivitis.
Swish your mouth with two tablespoons of coconut oil for 2-15 minutes. Thisis followedbyrinsing your mouth with lukewarm water. Repeat this every morning and before sleeping.

3. Baking Soda-

Baking soda kills bacteria and maintains all-over dental health.
With the help of a toothbrush, brush your teeth with baking soda. Make sure to wet your toothbrush before using it.

Alternatively, you may also make a paste of baking soda by adding the sufficient amount of water and brush your teeth with this paste. Rinse your mouth properly.
Repeat this two times in a week.

4. Lemon-

Lemon has bleaching properties and can help you get rid of white spots on your teeth naturally.
Dip a cotton ball withthree tablespoons lemon juice and apply on your teeth. Rinse your mouth with it for a few minutes

5. Green tea-

Green tea is rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. It mineralizes the teeth again. The antibacterial properties of green tea prevent the formation of plague.

Steep a green teabag in a cup of boiling water. Leave it for 5 minutes and let it cool down. Rinse your mouth with this solution for 30 seconds. Do this 2-3 times in a day.

6. Eggshell-

Eggshelltoothpasteremineralizes teeth. Itimproves thehealth of teeth as it is rich in calcium.

Boil an egg and remove its eggshell. Grind the eggshell to make its powder. Mix three tablespoons coconut oil to egg shellpowder and also add baking soda to it. Now brush your teeth with this paste every day for a week to get rid of white spots on teeth.

7. Charcoal-

Charcoal has been used since ages to clean teeth. Brush your teeth for 2 minutes with 2-3 tablespoons activated charcoal. This is followed by rinsing your mouth with water. Do this everyday.

8. Salt-

Salt not only treats white spots on teeth but improves all over oral health. Salt gargle removes bad breath and also fights gum diseases.

Add sufficient water to 2 tablespoons of water to make a thick paste and apply to your teeth. After 2 minutes rinseit off. Do this every morning for a week.
