Oily skin can be a menace if not well controlled. If you are combating oily skin and are hesitant to use chemical market toners, then you can resort to making simple and effective natural toners for oily skin at the comfort of your home. Listed below are some simple homemade toners for oily skin.

# 1. Cold water

The cheapest and easiest available toner is cold water. Cold water hydrates the skin cells, removes excess oil on the skin surface and also reduces acne inflammations. If you have acne prone oily skin, cold water is your best remedy. You can also use ice cubes to tighten skin pores.

# 2. Rose Water

Rose water is an age old remedy for beautiful skin and is considered to be one of the best homemade toners for oily skin. Rose water is known to combat greasy skin, reduce skin irritation, tighten skin pores, reduce inflammation, fight wrinkles, and refresh dull skin.

Aloe Vera is a wonder ingredient for the skin. Aloe Vera restores the skin’s natural pH and eliminates excess oil from the skin. Additionally it moisturizes the skin without making it too dry. To make an Aloe Vera toner at home, all you need is freshly extracted gel from the Aloe Vera leaf and water or lavender essential oil. Mix the gel either in water or lavender essential oil to make a skin toner.

Neem  toner can be considered one of the most natural toners for oily skin. Neem leaves contains medicinal properties and are used to treat several skin infections. Neem leaves are also known to combat oily skin thereby moisturizing it effectively. Boil a few washed neem leaves in water and steep until the temperature cools down. Strain the water and store in refrigerator before use.

#5. Lemon Juice And Peppermint Tea

Peppermint tea and lemon juice make one of the best homemade toners for oily skin. It helps control excess oil secretion from the glands and restores the skin’s natural pH. Additionally, it has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties that fights acne and reduces the overall shine on the face. To make this toner add a peppermint tea bag and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in hot water. Steep for about 5 minutes and allow to cool. With the help of a cotton pad, apply this homemade toner twice a day.

#6. Tomato Juice

Tomato is rich in folic acid, Vitamin C, and anti-oxidants which make it one of the wonderful natural toners for oily skin. Tomato juice helps suck out the excess oil from the skin and reduces scars and blemishes. The anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties of tomato also help prevent the occurrence of any skin related infections. To make tomato juice toner, extract juice from tomato pulp and mix with honey to form a thick paste. Apply this paste on the face for 15 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.
