Steep it for 5 minutes and add a little honey to it. Sip it when still warm. Drink it 2-3 times in a day to get rid of period pains.
Heating pad helps in easing off the pain and gives comfort
Heat helps in lessening down the pain and it helps a lot in bringing down the pain in lower abdomen during the periods. Take some water and heat it up, now store this water in the heating bottle and make sure that it should be warm enough to be gentle on your skin.
You can also take a towel and dip it in hot water. Squeeze out the extra water and place the hot towel on lower abdomen area for few minutes to take care of your period pain.
Eating potassium and magnesium rich diet during periods helps in curbing the pain in the lower abdomen. You can eat bananas, pumpkin seeds, green leafy vegetables to ease off pain during menstruation. Dark chocolate is also high in magnesium so you can eat 1-2 pieces in a day to get rid of pain during the periods.

Aerobic exercise provides relief from the pain in the lower abdomen as it increases the blood flow and counteracts the prostaglandins and reduces stomach cramps as well. You can also do some light asanas of yoga that will help in reducing the pain during the periods.

Keep yourself fully hydrated during the periods as this will flush out all the toxins and keep your body away from pain as well. Water also prevents the body from water retention and prevents bloating. Also consume cucumber, celery, oats and berries to keep your body hydrated and prevent pain from cramps.
Getting 8 hours of sleep is very important to keep your body fit and healthy. It also helps in relaxing your body and relieving you from pain during the periods. Lack of sleep might lead to irritability, fatigue and stomach cramping. Relaxation leads to calm mind and body as well. When there will be less fatigue then you will feel less pain.
