Dos and Don’ts to Brighten your Teeth

A perfect bright smile not only boosts confidence but also looks great. A smile can be very inviting, and also makes you more inviting and engaging.
Is your teeth yellowish and stained due to unhealthy habits like smoking, chewing tobacco no matter how hard you try to whiten it? Who doesn’t want a bright smile with sparkling teeth?
In this article I shall list down few do’s and don’ts to make your teeth brighter.

Dos and Don’ts to Brighten your Teeth

Don’t:

#1 Eat dark foods:

Avoid sauces, blueberries, and any other food which can leave behind stains.
In case you do have to eat these, try to rinse your mouth with water after that.

#2 Energy drinks:

The acid contained in energy drinks can have eroding effects on your teeth.
Go for a straw if you still need one.

#3 Use the same brush for ages.

Swap out your toothbrush, every 3 months as soon as you notice that the bristles are worn out.
Also remember to brush your tongue, this will ensure you have a fresh breath and also remove those bacteria which could lead to discoloration of your teeth.
Remember to brush after drinking or eating anything.

#4 Drink fruit juices

Go for natural fruits and vegetables, eat them raw. Also include dry and crunchy foods.
This will help keep your teeth clean by removing surface stains and plaque could lead to cavities.

Do’s:

#1 Rinse with apple cider vinegar

This is a natural and organic way to maintain a healthy smile.
Rinse apple cider vinegar mixed with water in the ration 1:2 for around a minute.
Apple cider vinegar would eventually work as a mouth gum cleaner and also remove stubborn stains off your teeth.

#2 Baking soda and hydrogen peroxide

This works as a great teeth whitener.
Mix a small amount of hydrogen peroxide with a small amount of baking soda to make a paste.
Hydrogen peroxide acts as an anti-bacterial agent and keeps the mouth void of germs.
Be careful when you use baking soda, since this can scrape out the enamel right away.

#3 Coconut oil pulling

Simply put a spoonful of coconut oil in your mouth and swish it between your teeth for 5 to 20 minutes.
Or you can add some coconut oil in a cloth or a brush and brush your teeth with it.
Coconut oil has antibacterial properties which help in removing germs and also helps in whitening teeth naturally.

#4 Lemon or Orange Peels

These have acidic properties which will help in teeth whitening.
Rub some lemon or orange peel over your teeth, every day.
You can follow by a very good oral mouth rinse using hydrogen peroxide.

#5 Strawberries

You can try rubbing some strawberries over your teeth.
This has proven to whiten your teeth if used on a regular basis.

Most dentists say that whitening products can damage the teeth by removing the enamel, by causing enamel erosion and could also lead to sensitive tooth.
So remember to use it in moderation, visit a dentist if needed. Quit bad habits like smoking, drinking alcohol and indulging in sugary foods.
