Heart is an important organ which plays a vital role in our body; it pumps the blood and circulates throughout the blood vessels continuously. Mostly heart attack will occur due to the blockage in the arteries or damage in the blood vessels. In olden days, heart attacks are seen only in older people, but today, heart stroke has become a common problem from young age to the old age. Whatever the reason it may be, either due to the work-life balance, over stress, or some other health issues, finally they are experiencing heart strokes. The person loses all of his health once he is attacked by the heart stroke. It shows many effects on the body, even-though it can’t be cured by medicines.

But still, there is a way to get rid of this heart diseases, it’s one and only the ‘Yoga’. Yes, it’s true! Many people are gaining benefits by the ultimate yogasanas. Even though there are many heart related problems, but for all the problems the only medicine is the ‘Pranayama’ the part of yoga. Pranayama is a Sanskrit word ‘Pran’ means ‘Breath’ and ‘Ayama’ means ‘Control’; so it’s a complete breathe taking asana. Pranayama must be done with an empty stomach or at least you should have a time gap of 5 hours after your meals.

Pranayama Asanas

Watch these simple Pranayama asanas which protects and keeps your heart healthy.

Bhastrika Pranayama:-

‘Bhastrika’ means Bellows. It’s a bellow based asana.

Procedure:

  • Sit on a flat surface in padmasana or sukhasana. You can also sit comfortably in chair, as it is a complete breath taking exercise.
  • Take a deep breath upto the lungs and exhale it completely with a hissing sound.
  • Do this upto 2-5 minutes.

  • This pranayama helps to cure heart related problems by improving blood circulation.
  • It purifies the air in the lungs.
  • It relieves us from stress, mentally and physically.
  • It also helps to cure asthma and head-ache.
Bhastrika Pranayama

Kapalbhati Pranayama:-

Procedure:

  • In Bhastrika pranayam, you have to inhale and exhale the air, but in Kapalbathi only you have to exhale the air through your nose.
  • Sit on a flat surface keeping your spine straight.
  • Take a breath and exhale it with a full of force through your nose, so that the stomach goes in automatically.
  • While you are exhaling air out, think that you are exhaling your stress, diseases, and impurities in your body.
  • Practice this slowly at least for 5 minutes. Take a short break after doing this and continue.

  • This pranayama activates the Muladhara chakra and makes you strong.
  • It improves the functioning of lungs.
  • It releases the stress toxins out and improves the positive thinking.
  • It cures the asthma, respiration problems and calms your mind.
  • It helps in reducing the belly fat and also maintains the diabetic levels.

Kapalbhati Pranayama
